Summary

Led the complete redesign of Carrefour Banque's website, presenting banking products (credit cards, consumer loans, insurance) and services for one of the world's largest retail groups.

Through comprehensive UX audits, competitive analysis, and stakeholder workshops, I created an intuitive digital experience that modernized the brand's banking presence and clarified their commercial offering.

While the project remains on standby for business prioritization reasons, the design work successfully demonstrated measurable improvements in user experience, satisfaction metrics, and product clarity.

Challenge

How can a grocery retail giant establish credibility and modernity in banking, a sector outside their core business?

The challenge was to design a digital experience that positions Carrefour Banque as a legitimate, trustworthy financial institution while leveraging the parent brand's recognition, all without the traditional banking heritage of established competitors.

  • Performed competitive analysis and mapping against traditional banks and neo-banks

  • Facilitated workshops with stakeholders to align on business objectives and user needs

  • Created wireframes for key interfaces and conversion journeys

  • Developed co-design workshops to align cross-functional teams

  • Supervised UI design and copywriting to ensure clarity and credibility

Key Takeaways

Sometimes you can build the most relevant, useful, and usable interface with an entire dedicated team. You can prove to stakeholders the tangible gains, improved user experience, increased satisfaction, clarified commercial offering.

But the launch won't depend on you.

It depends on business priorities. This project taught me that exceptional design work doesn't always equal immediate implementation. In large organizations, even validated solutions can remain on hold due to strategic shifts beyond the design team's control.

What matters is the rigor of the process, the quality of insights generated, and the readiness to launch when priorities realign. Great design work isn't wasted, it's an investment waiting for the right moment.
